We just started using IXL about a month ago to give the students a bit more independence in their learning. They seem to enjoy the ability to move as fast or slow as they like. IXL offers a variety of subjects with engaging interactive ways to learn.

Synthesis is an A.I. powered learning platform that teaches logic and mathematics in an open ended format. The kids LOVE sysnthesis and we usually have to make them stop as they will use it all day other wise. We also started synthesis about a month ago and it is and incredible addition to our learning arsenal. It’s interactiveity and the way it teaches math is so accesible and fun that we even get drawn into the excersizes.

We’ve been using tinker cad for about two and a half years and the kids have gotten pretty good at being able to design things they see in the world. My sons favorite show is “The Octonouts” who are adventerous animals who explore the ocean and teach viewers about ocean creatures and phenomena. We began designing some of their craft in TinkerCAD together and eventually he and his sister picked up the design interface and now deisgn their own ideas which we then print on the 3d printer and paint.

While we no longer use teach monster we used it for the last two and a half years. It gave them such a head start on reading that by the time we started 1st grade they were finishing with the software. We used it in the first few months of this school year but they were quickly transitioning to completely reading physical books on their own. They are now very proficient readers and frequently read chapter books at the 3rd-5th grade levels.
